Hundreds of illegal aliens are arriving in Germany daily amid another major migration crisis unfolding in Europe, according to reports.
German authorities recorded more than 86,000 illegal entries through the end of August - triple the number of the same period last year.
On average, 400 illegal migrants are being caught in Germany every day, with many more likely entering the country unnoticed, according to Junge Freiheit.
Most of the migrants reportedly hail from Afghanistan and Syria.
Germany's borders with the Czech Republic and Austria are 'particularly affected,' a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior told KNA news service.
Czechia and Austria, which lie closer to the external borders of the European Union, have experienced massive increases of illegal migration this year.
Last month, both countries reintroduced border controls with neighboring Slovakia, which has been accused of not doing enough to stem the flow of migrants.
"It cannot be that Slovakia says, 'We don't face up to this responsibility, but instead send people on down difficult paths,'" Germany's Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser asserted in recent comments.
More than 228,240 'irregular entries' were recorded across six major 'routes' through the first nine months of 2022, a 70% increase over the same period last year and the highest tally since 2016.
