Another 'Deliberate' Fire at Greek Migrant Camp

A large fire reportedly broke out at a migrant camp on the Greek island of Samos, marking the second major blaze at the asylum center in less than two months.

Tents and structures were damaged before fire crews could bring the conflagration under control.

The local mayor of Vathy says the fire was likely started 'deliberately,' and has called for the camp's inhabitants to be moved to the mainland of Greece, according to SCEPTR.

Between 3,000 and 6,000 migrants have been living at the camp in Vathy, which was originally designed to hold up to 650 inhabitants.

Multiple Twitter users shared purported videos of the blaze on Wednesday.

In September, at least two fires broke out at the Samos camp over the course of several days.

Greek authorities arrested and charged multiple migrants with arson in relation to the blazes.

Days earlier, migrants burned down a massive camp on the island of Lesvos, leaving thousands of 'asylum seekers' without shelter.
