Arsonist Savagely Beaten After Setting Fire on French Bus

An arsonist was pummeled by a Good Samaritan after starting a fire inside a public bus with children onboard in France, according to reports.

The incident unfolded at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in Vaulx-en-Velin, a commune in the Lyon metro region.

Footage of the barbaric attack was shared on social media.

As the vehicle sits at a bus stop with doors open, a male suspect can be seen stepping into the rear entrance and tossing a flaming object onto the seats before exiting and walking away.

A quick-thinking rider quickly knocks the fiery item out into the street and extinguishes smaller flare-ups inside the bus.

However, the suspect returns, opens the doors, and throws the blaze back inside, only to have it returned once again.

The arsonist attempted to flee but was caught by another man and ferociously beaten on the sidewalk.

It is unclear if the suspect was arrested as the incident was one of many arson fires around the city on Halloween night, according to Lyon Mag.

No injuries were reported.
