France: Man Jumped by African Illegal in Attempted Robbery

A man was attacked and beaten by an illegal migrant known to authorities during a botched robbery near a train station in France last week, according to reports.

The disturbing incident unfolded at around 7:30 pm on Friday evening on rue de Tauzia in Bordeaux.

A 40-year-old man had just left Saint-Jean station and was walking along the street when he was assaulted from behind.

The suspect repeatedly punched his victim and attempted to steal his suitcase.

Passersby rushed over after hearing the victim shouting for help and were able to restrain the suspect while officers were summoned.

"Held until the arrival of the police, this 26-year-old Libyan, who is subject to an obligation to leave the country, was taken into police custody," Sud Ouest reports.

An investigation has been opened and the African is expected to appear in court this week.

The attack comes amid a heated debate over violent crime and lawlessness tied to mass migration and the spread of Islam in France.

Military leaders fired off multiple incendiary letters last year, warning the Macron government of looming "civil war" if strong measures are not taken to regain control of a society spiraling into chaos.

It's official: America is now in a civil war.
