French Cop Hunted Down, Brutally Beaten by Group of 'Africans'

An off-duty police officer endured a savage attack aboard a train in France after being pursued by a group of men of 'African origin,' according to reports.

The incident unfolded at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night near Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, a commune outside Paris.

A 26-year-old cop in plain clothes was heading home on a train when he was approached by four males who had followed him on his journey.

"We know where you work and where you live. You're a shitty cop. What are you doing in our area?" they reportedly said to him.

The suspects set upon the lone man, brutally beating him and attempting to rob him until passengers intervened.

The assailants fled the scene when the train reached Saint Leu station but were arrested hours later.

"The four accused, aged 17, 20, 23 and 25, were arrested by a patrol of gendarmes from Pontoise, for acts of aggravated attempted theft," Le Figaro reports.

"Placed in police custody, three of them admitted participation in the attack on the police officer."

At least three of the suspects are well-known to authorities due to previous brushes with the law.

The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken nose, bruising, and facial wounds.

"They said they were going to kill me because I'm a 'dirty shit cop,'" the man said.

An investigation has now been opened into attempted murder of a public servant.

"Today this policeman is very traumatized, he knows that his attackers know everything about him and it's terrifying," a Parisian agent told Le Figaro.

“Police officers live in hiding nowadays, it's a reality. For some, wearing a mask is a blessing. There is no longer a separation between professional and personal life."

The attack comes amid a heated debate over violent crime and lawlessness tied to mass migration in France.
