German Transit Worker Stabbed by Fare-Dodging Syrian Migrant

A ticket inspector was stabbed by a Syrian migrant who was illegally riding a bus in Germany over the weekend, according to authorities.

The horrifying incident unfolded just after noon on Sunday in Dresden, the capital city of Saxony.

A transit employee encountered a man on a bus who had not purchased a ticket, Junge Freiheit reports.

The fare-dodger was ejected from the vehicle at a stop.

However, the outraged suspect pulled a knife and slashed a tire on the bus.

When the ticket officer confronted him, the suspect stabbed him in the stomach and fled the scene on a bicycle.

"Emergency services found a man (34) seriously injured at the 'Alter Postweg' bus stop on Joseph-Keilberth-Straße. He was immediately taken to a hospital," Police Saxony explained in a statement.

"Police officers found a suspect (23) nearby. The Syrian national was provisionally arrested."

An investigation into attempted homicide is ongoing.
