Authorities in Germany have arrested an Afghan male suspected of sexually assaulting two teenage girls in the span of hours this week, according to reports.
Two incidents involving the same suspect unfolded around Gültstein on Sunday.
A 16-year-old girl riding alone on a double-decker bus was attacked at approximately 8:30 a.m. by a man who yelled at her to perform sexual acts on him.
"In the process, he allegedly touched the teenager's pubic area several times and pulled her mouth-nose protection off her face. Afterwards, the initially unknown person got off the bus at a bus stop and walked away," Polizei.news reports.
Hours later, at around 2 p.m., police received an emergency call from a 19-year-old woman who said her ex-boyfriend had choked her and tried to rape her at a residence in Gültstein.
Arriving officers arrested an Afghan male, 19, on the spot.
After further investigation, authorities determined the suspect may have also been the perpetrator in the bus assault.
"At the request of the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office, the Afghan national was brought before a magistrate on Monday, who issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted rape and sexual harassment, put it into effect, and committed the suspect to a correctional facility," Polizei.news explains.
An investigation is ongoing, according to latest available information.
