A Brussels police officer was injured when a mob attempted to violently intervene in the arrest of a man carrying drugs, according to reports.
Officers on patrol in the Matonge district in Belgium’s capital approached a suspicious character on Saturday night.
After they determined he was carrying narcotics, officers began arrest procedures.
“During the check, the young man began shouting loudly to attract the attention of bystanders,” SCEPTR reports.
“Soon, dozens of people from the neighborhood gathered around the police and began pelting them with bottles, chairs and even suitcases.”
An officer and the suspect were both wounded in the melee, and two police vehicles were damaged.
Attacks on police and first responders in Brussels have become a frequent occurrence, as Infowars Europe has reported.
Emergency crews were recently targeted by 'youths' hurling projectiles and Molotov cocktails while responding to arson fires in the troubled Brussels district of Marollen.
Infowars Europe reports from the scene of a clash between German police and Antifa in Berlin after authorities evicted dozens of left-wing radicals from a squat house that had been occupied for decades.
