Migrant Arrested for Throwing Wife From Second Story in France

French police have arrested a man suspected of throwing his wife from the second story of their flat in the district of Montconseil this week, according to reports.

The 24-year-old suspect, a Romanian national, was apprehended at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the commune of Corbeil-Essonnes following the horrifying incident.

The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was seriously injured plunging roughly 15 feet into the bushes below after allegedly being pushed by her partner during a marital dispute.

Witnesses say they saw the man throw his wife and then bring a baby downstairs, handing the child to her before barricading himself inside the apartment.

"Residents tried to violently attack the alleged perpetrator, but were unable to do so," Actu 17 reports.

"Several residents tried to enter the suspect's home to do battle, but failed to enter."

Video purportedly showing the suspect's arrest was shared on social media.

Authorities have opened an investigation into attempted murder and also whether the suspect is legally present in the country.
