Police in Germany arrested an African male after he allegedly stabbed three people on Tuesday, killing two and injuring one, according to reports.
The horrifying incident unfolded at around midday in Ludwigshafen, a city in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Authorities responded to the scene of bloody rampage in the Oggersheim district.
They found two men, aged 20 and 35, suffering from fatal stab wounds, Focus reports.
The suspect, who fled the scene, attacked a third male victim at a drug store, seriously injuring him.
"There is currently a police operation in Philipp-Scheidemann-Strasse/Comeniusstrasse," Police Headquarters Rheinpfalz explained in a press release.
"According to the first reports, one person is said to have attacked another with a knife. The police used firearms against the alleged perpetrator. He was provisionally arrested. There is no danger to the population."

All three victims are German citizens, according to Focus.
The suspect was identified as a 25-year-old Somali national. His immigration status is unclear.
Interestingly, German state media made no mention of the suspect's nationality in an article about the attack.
An investigation is ongoing.
