A teenage boy was viciously attacked by a gang of migrants who stole his moped and valuables and destroyed his insulin pump in Sweden last week, according to reports.
The incident unfolded last Wednesday in Sätra, a 'troubled' district in the city of Gävle known for a large foreign population.
Melvin Gyllenhammar, 16, was leaving a soccer game on his brand new electric motorcycle when he was jumped by a group of 10 to 15 'youths' wearing masks.
The gang reportedly ripped Gyllenhammar off his moped and beat him so badly, his helmet was cracked.
Assailants took the boy's phone and keys and rode off on the motorcycle, which is valued at around $4,500 (40,000 SEK).
During the attack, the gang intentionally smashed Gyllenhammar's insulin pump, a critical medical device for the boy, who suffers from Type 1 diabetes.
"It's bad enough that they are 15 brats who mistreat the world's nicest guy who basically NEVER fought with anyone, it's bad enough that they steal the moped and keys, BUT it's so f**king sick that, even though he said he had diabetes, they took his insulin pump and threw it onto the ground to destroy it!" a family friend wrote on Facebook. "Without it he could actually DIE because he has very serious diabetes."
"They even beat him so badly that the moped helmet he was wearing broke. Thank goodness he had it on so he didn't get beaten to death right there."
Gyllenhammar's mother told Samnytt the attackers were definitely not Swedes.
"They were not Swedes. They spoke in broken Swedish," she said.
"It is a problematic area. There is a lot of trouble there."
Police had not located suspects or the motorcycle as of the most recent available updates.
