A teenage boy was stabbed during an attack near a school in England by a large group of assailants, at least one of whom was wielding a machete, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded on October 3 in Walsall, a town in West Midlands.
Footage purportedly shot at the scene surfaced on social media this week, prompting a response from local authorities.

In the video, a mob of attackers wearing hoods and masks appear to pursue a victim in the street, ultimately gathering to deliver a beating on the sidewalk in front of dozens of witnesses.
Security officers eventually intervene, with one delivering a flying tackle to break up the gang.
The suspects casually take off running, and one can be seen carrying a massive blade.
"We’re aware of a video circulating on social media of an attack by a school," West Midlands Police wrote in response to a Twitter user who published the video. "This footage was already in our possession and is believed to be linked to an incident reported on 3 Oct that’s already being investigated."
"The incident involved a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed in the leg by West Walsall E Act Academy. We’ve arrested three teenage boys, all aged 14, in connection with the incident. They have been bailed with conditions."
Many social media users and observers have speculated that the assailants appeared to be of 'South Asian' or 'Pakistani' descent.
Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
