A tourist was robbed by illegal migrants who ambushed him at his hotel in Brussels and stole his designer watch, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded on Tuesday evening in Belgium's capital city.
A man wearing a Hublot timepiece valued at over $30,000 was returning to his hotel when he was attacked by a male suspect, Bruzz reports.
"When the victim wanted to return to his room for a moment, he was grabbed from behind by a first suspect," a spokesman for the Brussels police explained.
"The thief tried to pull the timepiece from his wrist, but the victim put up a valiant fight."
During the struggle, a second suspect punched the victim in the face.
The suspects grabbed the watch and fled the scene, but the victim gave chase and managed to subdue one of the thieves with the help of a Good Samaritan.
The wristwatch was found in his possession and returned to the owner, albeit slightly damaged.
The second suspect was restrained by a friend of the victim near the scene of the robbery.
"The two suspects were found to be illegally staying in the country," Bruzz reports.
"One of them is already known for four counts of violent theft and one of pickpocketing."
An investigation is ongoing.
