Watch: Austrian Police Open Fire on 'Underage Migrant' Driving Stolen Car

Police in Austria fired at an 'underage migrant' who threatened to run over an officer in a stolen vehicle this weekend, according to reports.

The harrowing incident unfolded during the overnight hours between Saturday and Sunday in the capital city of Vienna.

Cops approached a poorly parked vehicle in the city center to conduct an inspection.

The driver tried to flee, hitting a civilian and a patrol car, according to a local prosecutor.

When an officer attempted to apprehend the driver, he was dragged for several meters and knocked into the street.

At this point, the injured officer was at risk of being run off, and at least one colleague discharged his firearm at the vehicle.

Purported footage of the shooting was shared on social media.

The suspect, who was not struck by gunfire, exited the car and collapsed, apparently suffering from injuries suffered in the collisions.

"The driver, who claims to be a 14-year-old minor, was placed in police custody for 'receiving stolen goods, refusal to comply, and attempted homicide of a person in authority,'" Sud Ouest reports.

"Another investigation has been opened in parallel for 'violence with a weapon against a person in charge of public authority,' said the prosecutor of the Republic in Vienne, Audrey Quey."

The suspect was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

Migrants often lie about their ages to European authorities, as Infowars has frequently reported.
